Privacy and cookies

ScoutSpecs has no accounts, no sign-ups and no analytics scripts. Here is the whole list of what it keeps about you.

Cookies

ScoutSpecs sets no cookies. There is no cookie notice because there is nothing to agree to.

One setting is kept in your browser's own local storage, on your device: whether you chose the dark or the light look. It never leaves the browser, and clearing site data removes it. Nothing about your visit is sent to a third party by this site.

Server logs

The web server records each request (address, page, time, browser string) in a standard access log used for keeping the site running and for blocking abuse. Logs are rotated and deleted within 14 days. They are not combined with anything else and are not shared.

Amazon links

Links to Amazon carry an affiliate tag. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy policy applies; Amazon tells ScoutSpecs how many purchases its links produced, in aggregate, and never who made them.

Sharing links

A build, a match or a check-up is encoded in the page address so you can share it. The address holds only the parts and options you chose. It is not stored on the server.

Your rights

Because the site holds nothing that identifies you, there is nothing to export or erase beyond the light-or-dark setting, which your browser can delete at any time. Questions go to hello@scoutspecs.com.
